Detailed Itinerary of the 6 Days to Weismans Peak: Mountain Rwenzori Hiking Safaris
Day 1: Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Camp
Have breakfast then from Nyakalengija transfer to Nyabitaba Camp for a period of 5-6 hours in a distance of 10 kilometers. Embark on your ascent of 1200 m, follow through bushes, tall grass viewing blue monkeys, three horned chameleon, Rwenzori Turaco. After a while you reach the Hut and have Dinner and Overnight. Nyabitaba Camp.
Day 2: Nyabitaba camp to Guyeoman camp
Breakfast at Nyabitaba Camp then proceed on journey to the Bamboo Forest zone then continue to the kichuchu bridge. Traverse the bridge up to kichuchu Rock shelter for packed lunch then later relax and rest. Later ascend steeply up to Guyeoman camp for a distance of 5 kms. Dinner and Overnight at Guyeoman Camp.
Day 3: Guyeoman Camp to Lake kitandara Camp
Breakfast then transfer from Guyeoman Camp following the trail through the boggy regions, Heather/rupenia zone up to bujongolo rock shelter. Have lunch here then later embark on a steep ascent to the fresh field pass where you watch the Margherita glaciers and weisman peak. After descend downwards to Lake kitandara for a period of 6-7 hours. Dinner and Overnight at Kitandara Camp.
Day 4 of the 6 Days Mountain Rwenzori Hikng Tour: Lake kitandara Camp to Weismans Peak
Wake up in the morning have breakfast then transfer from tussock to tussock watching wildlife like the red mountain duikers and rock hyraxes. Following the trail leads you to Weisman s peak at 4650m then later embark on descent to Lake Kitandara Camp for Dinner and an overnight.
Day 5 of the 6 Days Mountain Rwenzori Hikng Tour: Lake Kitandara Camp to Guyeoman Camps
Enjoy breakfast in the morning then begin descending downwards to Guyeoman Camp a journey that takes you about 5 hours depending on the physical fitness of the hikers. Dinner and Overnight at Guyeoman.
Day 6: Guyeoman Camp to Nyakalengija
Breakfast then descend to Nyabitaba Camp for lunch then continue to Nyakalengija for pick up and transfer for hours to your lodge. Hotel or the Entebbe International Airport.
