Detailed Itinerary of the 7 Days Gorillas and Lake Mahooma Rwenzori Tour
Day 1: Arrive and Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park
You are welcomed and picked from the Entebbe International airport o Bwindi Forest National Park. Along the way, break off briefly then at Kayabwe the equator take many photos to keep have lunch in Mbarara then continue to Bwindi Forest National Park. On reaching here, check-in lodge or Dinner and Overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking at Bwindi Forest National Park
Have delicious breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the rare species of Mountain Gorillas. Later in your allocated groups of 8, enter the green thick forest vegetation habitat to trek the Mountain Gorillas for 3- 5 hours.
Follow differing trails in the forest then later you meet the Gorillas and in an hour, stay in their presence taking numerous photos to keep with you about the unique exciting safari adventure of trekking the Gorillas in Uganda.
After Gorilla trekking, return to the Park headquarters for your Gorilla Trekking Certificate then later into your 4×4 vehicle to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Haven Lodge Buhoma.
Day 3 of the 7 Days Gorillas and Lake Mahooma Rwenzori Hike: Transfer to Nyakalengija (Mountain Rwenzori)
Have early morning breakfast at lodge then proceed on journey towards Kasese. You transfer for a period of 7 to 8 hours with lunch en-route. On reaching Nyakalengija, proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Ruboni Community Camp.
Day 4: Nyakalengija to Omuka kizza
Early Morning breakfast at Ruboni Community Camp then later with park ranger guides, embark on guided walk along the Mahooma Trail. Follow the trail that takes you through rainforests along the Kyambogho ridge and here you view the Mubuku Valley then Mountain Rwenzori Peaks at a distance. You shall later reach the Omuka kizza Camp for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 5 of the 7 Days Gorillas and Lake Mahooma Rwenzori Hike: Omuka kizza to Lake Mahooma
Enjoy breakfast and proceed through bamboo and heather forests where you see footprints of Forest Elephants. Continue on hike to the ridge that takes you towards the Rukenga Valley a region known to have giant lobelias which grow up to 8 meters and more. These consist of flowers that are beautiful too. You shall get to the Campsite close to Lake Mahooma and here have Dinner and Overnight.
Day 6: Lake Mahooma to Nyakalengija
Early morning delicious breakfast at the campsite then embark on guided walk around Lake Mahoma which is the deepest Lake along Mountain Rwenzori. You then descend back through the Mpanga ridge which leads you to the Mubuku valley. You shall proceed to Nyakalengija then to Ruboni Community Campsite for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 7: Depart to Kampala or Entebbe
Enjoy early morning breakfast at 8:00 am then embark on departure to Kampala or the Entebbe International Airport to board flight back home.
