Mountain Gahinga Volcano in Uganda
Mount Gahinga is located in Mgahinga National Park Uganda bordering Rwanda and Uganda. The Mountain Volcano is situated between Mount Muhavura and Mount Sabinyo Volcano and is the smallest of all the three Mountain Volcanoes in the Park.
Mount Gahinga Volcano is elevated at 3,473 m (11,394 ft) spanning across Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Vegetation around the Mountain is afro montane inclusive of bamboo and inhabits the rare species of Mountain Gorillas, bird species and Golden Monkeys.
Hiking Mount Gahinga Volcano
Mount Gahinga Volcano can be hiked following through the verdant green vegetation of Mgahinga National Park. The Hike takes you 5 to 7 hours through different vegetation zones inclusive of Bamboo. You later reach the top of the Mountain Volcano and here you enjoy the cool breeze from the giant lobelia and swamp. After your hike, you descend back to the starting point then proceed back to airport or lodge.
